Which technology is better gsm or cdma and on which basis?

can any body plz tells me that which technology is best gsm or cdma and on which basis.
i m concenrnd with datarates

is gsm good choice for genration3 .
can we access broadband on GSM

hi dear friend.
if we can overcom the problemas of cdma by developing technology, cdma is better. in 4th generration , will be used combination of cdma and ofdm that call MC-CDMA (multi carrier cdma). that is very robust method.

Dear Fahad(Virus):
In terms of Bandwidth(2.4 Mbps) and data rate CDMA is better in 3G.But CDMA has the ability to Jam itself as the number of users increase because the S/N increases respectively.IN 2G and 2.5G GSM is very effective bcz of ease of implementation and availability of equipment.

I think CDMA is better than GSM... Their comparision , advantages and disadvantages r covered in detail in "ELECTRONICS FOR U" book (2 months back)
edition.......

Hi,
first GSM and 3G are incompatible.
The standard GSM is based on TDMA & FDMA but CDMA is used in third and fourth generations.

gsm is spectrum dependent technology.
constant power handling capability is required in cdma

Hello,

GSM is more dedicated for voice call while WCDMA is more suitable for data transportation (video....).
Since GSM uses a constant envelop modulation, I think that the efficiency is better than with WCDMA system (non-constant envelop).
