Hi friends,

I am using RedHat version 9.1.

I was unable to get the USB connection .But in windows USB devices are detecting automatically .

How to connect USB devices in LInux.

Thanks in advance

Goud

i think u need an addon to redHat, it doesnt work alone with USB. unless u had a cd coming with the usb device

What kind of the device do you want to connect by USB? If it is a memory stick or external hard drive, you can mount it directly.

You need a kernel module for that. Search Redhat's forumes for an apropriate kernel module (aka driver).
This is one of the reasons I don't like redhat lack of hardware support :(
That's why I prefer Mandriva and SUSE ;)

if u r using the redhat 8 or later
make a folder in which u mount ur usb
open terminal
mount /dev/sda1 /root/flash

/root/flash is ur specified location
or try this one
/dev/sda1 /mnt/usb auto sync,noauto,user,exec 0 0

Maybe you should use a newer Linux distribution.
Redhat9 is too old.

hi,

i think no depend on version of Linux OS
the principal u must mount the device for access it..

regards
