cicuit of digital clock using pic

Hi All,
I am new of doing project, please advise whether can share the schematic other information regarding making this project.
Thanks

make clock +16f84+7segment

Hi all,
Thanks for the info.
who had done the alarm clock before, please share the info to me.
Thanks.

Why not use a real time clock? What language are you using?

I think of create a hardward using the PIC Microcontroller IC.
Who had related info, please share with me. Thanks.

They are discussed in this group.

Look at appnotes AN590 and AN615 from Microchip. They feature a clock based on the PIC16C54(A), but you should be able to use/ adaptt the schematic and possibly use most of the code, too.

How the Cystal to connect to the PIC16C84.
Do the cystal needed to connect to Vcc.

K is the kathode, the common electrode where all diodes cathode are tied together.
It must be connected to ground (-5V) if you are using a non multiplexed scheme or to the colector of multiplexing transistor if you are using a multiplexed scheme.

Do you got any example schematic to explain this. Thanks.

Many examples for multiplexing the 7-segment LED displays on the internet, just "google" and you will find out the answers for yourself.

Multiplex, it may sound strange for you once you heard it the first time, but it is really easy to understand and very common in electronics.

You don't specify if the clock display should be LCD or LED. I notice you asked questions about the Cathode for the 7-segment display. Can I assume you are going to use 7-segment displays then?

How many segments do you want? (e.g. time format "HH:MM" or "HH:MM:SS")

What time accuracy do you require. Using for example a 4Mhz xtal, you will never get a spot on time base. Do you just want a clock, or do you want it to perform some timing functions as well, e.g. an alarm, or driving lights or water solenoids etc.

Lastly, how much do you actually know of the PIC series? The 16F84 has since been replaced with a 16F628, which in turn has been replaced by 16F88.

16f84 alarm lcock

Hi spdchk,

I plan to create a alarm clock of using the seven segment that had 4 digit diplay (HH:MM) using Microcontroller 16C84.

I had doubt about the frequency? How do i know which frequency to used?
Can i used 32.768kHz?

Above is my circuit design, please give some comment. Thanks.

7 segment 4 digit schematic

**broken link removed** has a nice site. This link should give you more info regarding your request. This link does feature the 16F628 though. The code can be modified for the 16F84, but I would strongly advise to go the 16F628 route. This PIC is simply more superior to the now outdated 16F84

You can also try and search www.piclist.com for "Tony Tait". He wrote an application using the 16F84 and one 7 segment LED display. Good luck at the piclist.:D

4+digits+7+segment++digital+clock+scheme+cod

You seem to be newbie to electronics as you do not know the 7-segment LED and how LEDs work but you have to deal with the digital clock with microcontroller PIC, where there is beside hardware the firmware, I really think that it is not so easy for many people to simply copy the circuit.

Much simpler for you is digital clock with logic ICs, you can search within this site, and circuit diagram is available.
