cpld led matrix

Hi all,
I'm new in this field, anybody have some resource on how to create an electronic message display system using RGB LED and send the message through hyperterminal?

I want to know how to program the FPGA to receive the message and decode it to the Row and Collum of the RGB LED display module to display the message.

Anybody have input on this please advise.

Thanks.

cpld with led matrix

Hi

I played around with a DBMAXLED CPLD board from Altera (5x5 RGB LED matrix). Altough i canned the project I was able to send a 5x5 pixel block from a bitmap on my PC to the CPLD LED matrix. It worked quite well; you load any bmp into the app and then just drag the mouse over the bmp to send that part to the matrix.

Let me know if you would like more info
