ADS model problem

How to add a ADS model (from web) into my schematic as a sub-circuit?
I download a ADS model file for a transistor ,but it is a *.prj file after unziped.
I try to create a new symbol,but nothing help.
Could someone help me?

Draw your circuit in schematic window , put off-page connectors on inputs and outputs. Don't put any power supply or something else..

after that

View-->Create/Edit Schematic.. and then

Create your symbol.

When you create your symbol, this will be appeared in the component list .So you can place many times .
When you use this symbol in another schematic view , if you click "hierarchy down" you'll see your circuit.

I think you look for..

Rgrds

Plesase read the Documentation of ADS. They are sufficiently good. I suppose you to print out.

*.prj files are whole projects...so you need first to open the *.prj file you downloaded using ADS, then click on 'networks' it will show all the circuits associated with the project, one of those circuits (or many of them) is your model you are seeking.. then you can use 'copy design to another project' or something like that, then choose your new project.. it will copy that network to your own project where you can then use it...

I hope I understood you correctly...

yes ,there is a subcircuit *.ds file
I will try to do just like you said.

The following steps will create an entry in the library browser called My_Library, and place the BJT model you imported making it available sitewide:

1.-The import process created a design with the name of the model (i.e. bjt 2n2222a) as design name. Edit this design by entering a BJT and connecting 3 ports to it. Save the design and close it.
2.-Use a text editor to open the design's AEL file, and change the library name from "netlist" (or "*") to "My_Library". Save and close the AEL file.
3.-Open the design again.
4.-Select from the Tools menu Tools>"Custom Library">Create>"Site part" . A pop up window will inform you that "the library part installed in the Library group "My_Library"" and that you need to restart ADS for changes to take effect.
5.-Re-Start ADS and open any project, select the library browser and see that the entry "My_Library" is listed and the part you created is available.

rfc :)

Can I packaged it and could import it to another computer for other use?
How to?
Thank you

other way to do that

If you want to use model(analog) from other prj:
do include prj from ADS main window;
then you can use component library broswer,
and you can find the need model in "sub-network"...
// the condition is the *.ds has been built as a sub-circuit model
If you want to share the analog model, just build it as a sub-circuit model as all the experts said above, then packed and share with your friends.

But sharing a Ptolemy model is another story, need some setting, and put in the right dir......... and pray;

it is easy but sometimes troublesome. :)

You must first include the *.prj. Since, it is *.prj file, you can insert the symbol of the model from the lib. Than, use spiceInclude/infInclude etc... to include the model file on the top level of the schematic.

I am very glad for you solve my problem for ADS
when I do detail simulation about the subcircuit ,I find good result for s Parameter.
But it seem to no response when I adjust bias voltage.
I know ADS has a function can import several s2P files for different bias staus in one time.
Can someone try this?
and how can detect a current in output pin of transistor,like D for MOSFET.I want to know the component name.
