AT45DB041 is a serial flash memory. it has SPI interface. It should be easyly integrated with ATmega microcontroller that has built in SPI interface. There is something error when i tried to integrate with my ATmega64. When my micros try to read the status of the flash, it's always return 00 or 0xFF. The right value of the status is 0x9C.
actually, it returns right value only when the flash is new. but after i turn off the circuit, and turn it on again, the return value is turn to error(00 or 0xFF)

can anybody help me?

regards,
Enas

Hello,
Check the voltage level to the chip. These chips are pretty sensitive to the supply voltage. I have used the AT45DB081 with PIC16F877A. It took me more than one month to make it work. If possible, post your circuit diagram.

ok, this is my scematic. I only focused on the dataflash and its power supply schematic. then the interface is AVR SPI ports.
why the power supply for dataflash is very sensitive? so, how many volts i must use?

thanks
