cadence beginner needs help in 1st circuit!

Hi,
Can i use nmos.m model files for 4 pin nmos circuits or they can be used for 3 pin ckts. only?
I am getting the following error while simulation:
Q0 is an instance of undefined model trpnp .
M0 is an instance of undefined model nmos
M1is an instance of undefined model pmos .
Please Help Me!!

nmos and pmos are 4 pins device.
 

Q0 is a BJT device that uses trpnp model.
M0 is a MOS device that uses nmos model.
M1 is a MOS device that uses pmos model.

So you hsve to use nmos.m, pmos.m and trpnp model files.

The problem has been troubleshooted .. I was nt able to setup the model path initially!

i was using trpnp.m instead of npn.m.
npn.m was used for BJT and pmos.m was used for both 3 & 4 pin circuit.

now i m in inverter tutorial and getting error =
xi0.m1: Effective length is less than or equal to zero.

I changed the L & W to a certain range but it did not help.

Moreover for an another project i need to vary L & W to a certain range and see its graph simultaneously ... Can i do this? I know i can vary dc ac voltage and all that in analysys section but how can i do this in case of physical parameters such as Length and Width?
Can i vary the performance by changing any other parameter?

Is there channel lateral diffusion length in the model file?
I think the lateral diffusion will be subtracted when simulating.
Xi0.m1 is the device m1 in instance 0(I0). I think I0 is the symbol of invert quoted in the simulation schematic diagram.Did you modify the length just for this device? If yes,Please check the model file to find the value of lateral diffusion.
You can change the length for Xi0.m1 and only make
netlist to find the lenght changing is available or not.

I have set the model path to the directory of model files and there is no error related to that! However , I am not able to figure out which whould i use in SPECTRE,SpectreS,cdsspice... Could anyone please tell me what are these and which 1 for which purpose??

I have succesfully completed simulation in spectreS but whenever i try it in spectre after loading model libraries instead of editing model path in spectres . i get following errors:

I get about 16 Syntax errors in all model files
pPar and iPar are used recursevly.
 

I am not familiar with mos model. You must read the model glossary to find the parameter.

The syntax error may be the name of model parameters or model format is not compatible between the simulator spectrS and spectre.
Please read the cdsdoc.

As for me, the hspice is the defealt simulator.
 

y hspice?
spectre appears as default whenever i run simulations.... but i cant simulate the same 1 in spectre n spectres...
Is there ne method 2 do it?
 

Using hspice, the synopsis hpsice software must be installed. The default simulator can be defined in .cdsenv file. I forget the sentence.

You could act as a godfather to all cadence beginners by providing your experiences here to us.
Could you tell how can i change my dafult simulator in .cdsenv file. I want to change it as it takes a lot of time whenever i switch between the simulators!

Add
asimenv.startup simulator string "hspiceS"

in the .cdsenv file.

You must be sure you have installed synopsys hspice software and the license. If you want hspice
can be invoked in cadence CIW, the sda, psf, cdsaawaves feature must be in the hpsice license.
 

It is written>> asimenv.startup simulator string "spectreS"

However, It accepts Spectre instead of sprectreS ....
