what are the software recommendations for simulation of an ad hoc network protocol. i am running on windows. Please do comment. Thanks

ad hoc on ns2-simulator

I dont know about the windows platform....but there is "ns"-network simulator software for linux platform.

hi

you can use NS2 simulator to do this (NS2 works with linux), if you work with windows, you can also using NS2 simulator, but you should use whith it "Cygwin", interface that you make possibilty working with ns in windows.

ya definately for windows users cygwin is the only way as far as i know ...
hey anyone tried Opnet for manet simulation ?? ..i don't think it supports manets but still...ns would do the job

OPNET is a very good tool and it supports manet
 

simulation vanets in opnet

hi

OMNeT++ is also very useful and it is open source only.But for every software i.e Discrete event simulator we need to learn C++ .Then only we can do fastly our coding.

please help me. i dont know how can i start a simulate vanet (ad hoc network) using opnet.
i dont know how to select a module and other parameter in opnet.
please give me some information and material or link .
i have only 2 week to do this project.

opnet cygwin

To use ns2 on Windows, you can download a virtual machine (VMware)
and run linux on it. It will be easier to run ns2 that way.

Hello everyone,

I am quit new in this topic. What can OPNET / NS-2 do in terms of simulation?

By instance, can it compute the packet detection probability? The probability to detect neighbour vehicles? The packet loss probability?

Please, provide me with some example.

hi i am samaradh jain persuing mca .
currently i am working on a project based on adhoc network .
in this project i have to simulate macaw and fama protocol
and also simulate on that please suggest the tool for use them

red hat linux enterprise edition .... simulation will be supported well
NS2 VERSION 2.34.....................this supports adhoc protocol implementation
 

I want a TCL script of ns2 in the ad hoc network that can send packet to destination direct
without using any middle node and then measure power consumption of any node
plz help me
