Where can I get DIY transmitter/receiver which I can use for RC toy?

Hello,

anyone got links/schemes/site for DIY Rx/Tx... just the transmitter/reciever.. be it AM or FM...

gonna use it for R/C toy.... I have already a 6 channel encoder/decoder but is lacking
the wireless link....

im much more into the DIY radio link ..... any other? been googling for hours, never seen ANY, at least not for the readymade radio links...
