Hi,

Here is link to a practical solution, though it is built with TDA1572, most of the circuits needed for SSB reception can be used to the TDA1072 too: **broken link removed**

Band switching is shown in the original data sheet, Fig. 16:

Another practical circuit is here but it is for one band only:
**broken link removed** It uses home made crystal filter in the IF stage (cheep color burst 4.433MHz or similar "computer" crystals are also good).
