mbc13720

Hello All,

In my application i woulf like to interface MBC13720 LNA from Freescale with MC13192 RF transiever again from freescale for 2.4GHz Application. can anyone post me the reference schematic for this or suggest me the best matching circuit w/o using much external components.

Thanks in advance.

Gunjan

mbc13720 application

MBC13720 LNA has only unbalanced output, when MC13192 transceiver has differential RF input (to use a differential antenna).
You can use a balun between LNA output and transceiver input, and keeps the output match recommended by Motorola in the MBC13720 datasheet.
The balun could be microstrip like this Atmel design:

or chip:

lna schematics

Hello vfone,

first of all thank you for your reply. I am using balun from johanson technologies and the schematic is attached herewith. can you please let me know your comments and suggestionon this.

Thanks again

I think there is something wrong with this schematic.
The output of the LNA (“RF” in your schematic) should go only to the pin 1 of the balun (2450BL15B200) using C20, and the input of the LNA should go only to the pin 3 of the switch (uPG2012TK) using C1 (and remove C7).

hi,

yes you are right C7 i have added just in case we need to use the circuit without LNA. In that case I will not mount the LNA section. and during the test with LNA C7 will not be mounted.

Thanks again, if you have some more suggestions, please do write them, thanks again
