Hyperlynx Question?

Hello All,

I'm evaluating this tool. I'd like to get better picture on how we will use this SI Tool in real work.

-My PCB has a TMS320C54x serie from TI and I can't find the ibis model for it. Can I use other model from the library? Which model I should use instead? Do we need to specify all ibis model for all the pins or only the net we're interested? How about power supply? Is there any hints on how we should select which model to use when we don't have the model for the part we use. It seem that creating a model from scratch is not quite easy. Only the information from the datasheet is not enough to create the ibis model???

-Do we normally use this tool to simulate the whole board or just on the specific net?

-Will ground/power plane void area affect the accuracy of the result?

TIA,

Re: Hyperlynx Question?

1.U can assign spice model if u dont have IBIS model.
2.In Hyperlynx there are two parts linesim used for single net simulation,Boardsim used for analysis of whole board by running batchmode simulation.
3.Hyperlynx doesnot consider any voids are spiltting of planes it assumes a continous refernce plane.
