Hi there,

I'm looking for some standard algorithms about sampling an analog signal, in order to get into some DSP calculations.

Any help is completely appreciated.

Nyquist

Nyquist comes into immportance here. Your samples should be at least twice as frequent as the highest frequency energy of your signal. Making it even more frequent sometimes makes the DSP work easier. For instance, if you wanted to multiply the signal by a sinewave, you could adjust the sample point frequency to hit the sine wave at the +1 0 -1 0 points which makes multiplying easier. Half the time you discard the sample and the other half you pass it through at full value or full value inverted which all is easier on the math.
