homebrew software/hardware for a digital signal generator

Hello,

I'm lookin for a digital signal/pattern generator .
A complete hard/software or maybe a software that drive the parallel port coud be sufficient.

Analog Devices have direct digital synthesizer chip AD9852.Check there site for more info.Also you can check Circuit Cellar site:

thanx . But in fact I only need to generate logic signals on 8 channels in order to simulate some digital inputs on a microcontroller board. the design on circuit cellar doesn't seem to be whatI need :?
