hello friends,

what is the significance and necessity of 'folded' cascode amplifiers?

and when is a bjt cascode used and when a mos cascode is used? which is a better one?

thank you in advance,

cascode amplifiers.

folding incraese the headrom of the signal than telescopic and it separates the input commion mode from the output common mode .
but it has higher current consumption and higher noise and i guess lower speed then telescopic

Re: cascode amplifiers.

It can also increase the bandwidth, due to reducig the miller capacitance. of the commen emitter/source amplifier.

cascode amplifiers.

As for BJT or CMOS, I guess it more dependent on which technology you are using.

Re: cascode amplifiers.

could you please tell me due to what we get a better signal swing, using a folded cascode than with a normal cascode?
