hoew to erase and rewrite into eeprom

hello all
i have to use atmel 16k (2k *8) eeprom
can any body tell me how this chip woirks..
i have searched thru the data sheet , but it is not mentioned
i want to know how to erase and rewrite into it
is it line wise or block wise
 

These ic's are controlled via i2c bus, look here for the details:

24c16 can be written bytewise or blockwise (8 byte blocks if I remeber correctly).

Read AT24XXX datasheet ,it use I2C protocol
