How to start programming at90s2313 in C?

please i want someone to explain to me how i could start programming at90s2313 in c.
i will appreciate if you could send some topics and source code for some project using the at90s2313 to me. I actually want to use it for 5*7 matrix display board, so if you have materials on that please do not hesitate to forward them.

if possible, please send a book or let me know the link where I could learn more on programming micro controllers. I presently use DEBIAN and Ihave been learning how to programme at90s2313 in C, have not been able to bridge the gap.

you can use avr GCC compiler, and try an source code examples found with avr gcc, it is not hard to begin with avr gcc
just download avrstdio 4 from atmel.com
and download winavr it is free some where on web
and start
