How to simulate the Kvco with spectre?

Give me some suggestions ,please.

Thanks.

you can run a pss analysis changing the capacitance (or voltage to the varicap) and then plot the frequency vs capacitance (voltage). once you have this plot the slope will be the gain or Kvco.

Hope this helps.

may i know how to get the plot frequency vs capacitance (voltage) in cadence-virtuoso-ADE

thanks in advance

I would just run two transient analyses out to where
the VCO has settled in frequency, at two slightly
different control voltages, pick off the frequencies
and control voltages, and do the math. Doing this
as close to the spec conditions and planned test
method for the product, will be helpful later.
