hi, i'm doing my final project (offline fingerprint recognition).

i'd got Luigi Rosa's steps: input image, find the center, crop, sectorization, normalize, gabor filter, feature vector of variance.

i'm quite confuse in these two steps: crop, sectorization.
why we have to crop the image?
what is the function of sectorization in fingerprint recognition?

please help me, thank...

I think cropping is to make the image to be smaller so the processing is faster...about sectorization, not really sure, maybe you can upload the paper here, and I think somebody may help you on this.

thank for reply me...

i'd hv read some paper, sectorization is use to tessellate the region of interest
around the core point for application in next step.

i would like to know what is filter-based extraction? what's the steps in this method?

thank a lot...

Not really sure about this, but think that filter-based extraction is a general term, means use filter to do extraction. There should be more specific algorithm of filter-based extraction.

Anyway, how you want to get the core point?

Hello if any body have the code for fingerprint matching them please share it
or send it on naresh850 gmail.com
