Embedded Hardware newbie !

I have knowledge about basics of 8085 and C. Please tell me how to start with some embedded system projects (ofcourse for beginners) from the very ground-up. I heard of discreep terms of "Keil", "Chip Burning Kit" etc. But frankly speaknig, I need a concrete lecture on it fully explaining all the details i need to know including books to follow or any h/ware to buy or any keil like software. Also mention the steps cleary, which i may follow !

You can start off with a microcontroller project.
It is simplier than building a microprocessor from scratch.
Try looking for PIC16F877 project.

i think for Mahul000, u want to start working with microconrollers and u have the basics and the general idea of the microprocessor.

so as that is what i understood,
u should first decide with which u want to start working 8051 or pic?

for the PIC u will start with the PIC16F84A:

1- buy the controller16f84a
2- get the burner called JDM it is free on net
3- get the programer called ICprog also free on net
4- get the MPLAP from microchip (free) www.microchip.com
MPLAP will work alone with assembly
5- if u want to work with BASIC language u need PICbasic pro compiler
and the Microcode studio from Mikroelektronika www.mikroelektronika.com
6- if u want to work using C u want MIKRO C program from mikroelektronika also.

u will find good books for pic on this site.

for the 8051 :
i don't know alot
but to download the keilµvision software for C programming from www.kiel.com
