analog layout techniques

how can I learn Analog Layout techniques?

analog layout learning

Read some good book like one by :Alan Hasting on Analog Layout ,
Or Read some Analog Layout Guidelines given by the foundary in their Design rule doc.
Then, practice some layouts and try to get some good layouts made by some experienced layout designer and try to learn through them

Analog layout is a tough and interesting job and learning never stops.

Good Luck

digital PR is also very interesting

where can I find the Analog Layout Guidelines given by the foundary in their Design rule doc?
can some one upload??

Hi,

You can try Alan Hastings, Pucknell (to some extent).

If you are using Tanner tools or any other EDA tools than you can register to TSMC site and request for the technology files.

Thanks

What is the difference between digital layout and analog layout??

Added after 1 minutes:

are digital layout techniques different from the analog ones?

My excercise is :
Reading good textbook while working on some project .

if you can be a good analog layout designer, you should be a good digital layout designer.

but for the digital layout design, now there are a lot of Design Automation tools. for analog layout, it depends on more on experience.

Hi,
As an analog layout engineer you have to be very stringent with the layout, as any mismatch in the layout can cause your design to depart from the specifictions.
As far as digital layouts are concerned there is little concern on matching, and moreover the processes are now automated.

So you can say that the role of analog layout engineer is more challenging,

Thanks
Shaikh Sarfraz
