noise on a telephone line , how to identify it ?

i have a adsl broadband connection which my provider provides me using the standard telephone line., i am using a Router cum modem,
i am facing a problem with my telephone line , whenever there is a little noise in the telephone line, my modem doesent shows the ADSL link and i am unable to connect.

so i want to know is there any simple method to check the little noise which is coming from the telephone line cable...

please reply..

Do you use ADSL filter? If you're using ADSL modem, you should use ADSL filter in between modem and telephone.

If you want more information on the filter, search in google.
 

Various standards exist relating to Noise measurement:

Standard:ITU-R 468 is widely used in Broadcasting and professional Audio.

Standard:IEC A-weighting is widely used in Environmental Noise measurement.

Standard:CCIR recommendation 468-4 is now maintained as ITU-R 468

Standard:CCITT 0.41 refers to 'Psophometric weighting' used on telephone circuits.

Standard:CCITT P53 is now continued as CCITT0.41

Standard:BS 6402:1983 specifies Personal sound exposure meters.

Standard:BS 3539:1968 specifies Sound level meters for motor vehicle noise.

Standard:BSEN 60651 supersedes BS 5969:1981 Sound level meters
 

YOU CAN USE ADSL MODEM FILTER
 

sorry my phone and adsl connection should be swaped ( connect phone to plug marked as adsl)
