Do I have to download updates and hotfix for Cadence package?

hello,

while downloading a cadence package, there are 3 things:

Base Release
Updates
Hotfix

do we need to download all 3 things...?

base release is essential.
but it is better to download Hotfix and updates.

this are different versions from cadence.... example base relaease is the first release by cadence of any specific tool... after using this tool if we find some bugs and they update that then releases the update release and finally hot fix after all know bugs are removed and can be used for perfect tapeout

Hi Shankarmit,
Ur correct. Cadence will first release Base then every quater it release QSR, and if any critical bugs appeared, then it will release ISR, ISR is not time bounded. It can release for even 10 PCR 's fix also.
best download latest USR with base release.


install UPdate (USR) cd's first will ask Base also later.
dont install Base then updates.

Cadence download

base release is the origin pakage. Update is a full-tested version to fix the base's bug. Hotfix is not been full tested.

Mostly no... they can't do.. documentation every time.. unless it is need.... sometimes in the front page they may add some extra commands about the new features or bugs...
