Hi,
I don't know anything about microcontrollers or really anything. Heres my problem: I want to make a 3 digit LED numeric display countdown from 300 to 0 and be reset by a sensor back to 300. I wanted to have a display countdown from how many bullets go through a barrel in my gun. And then when the magazine goes empty I can take it out and put a new one in and have it reset to the amount of bullets in the magazine. Is this possible? Its a airsoft gun so I could put sometype of sensor at the hammer or the end of the barrel. Any help would be much appreciated.:D

u do not need necessarily need micro-controllers for this purpose. It ccan be done by simple TTL IC chips. Tell me if you have any idea about counters, seven segment displays and seven segment display drivers? If yes, then I suggest you look up the datasheets of decade up/down decade counters (74191/74192), seven segment display drivers (7447). If not, then I will try to help u in a different way.

74192 + seven segment display + 7447

it can be easily done using microcontroller...if u want to know how to interface ur sensor to the controller, tell what type of sensor u r using and its electrical characteristics. And for driving the LEDs u can use 7447 directly interfaced with the ports in the controller....

Yeah I don't know anything about counters, seven segment displays, and seven segment display drivers. This stuff is all new to me.

Re: Led Counting Display

the circuit for led counter is available on www.electronic4u.com
search the site u'll get it

Re: Led Counting Display

I think this will work: **broken link removed** All I have to do is come up with somekind of infrared sensor to trigger the counting. So when the bullet passes the beam it triggers the counting.:D
