this is a paper I got to work on for my final , in a the Field & Wave course , can any body help me with it or suggest a book ? ( I've checked pozar , ballanis , cheng & sadiku already )

there are two rectangular waveguides which are connected to each other by a funnel , a single mode ( TE01 ) wave is fed to one end , find the modal expansion and field equations on the other side ( use needed parameters )

I will really appreciate any help , thank u all .

Hi
You can study this book 'field theory of guide wave 'Collins .There are methods in solving uncontinued quesiton.
I think the best method is Mode Match ,you should expand the mode in the waveguide.
Best Regards !

hi
I would not be able to solve the problem but its a typical mode matching problem. There is a book called field theory of waveguide components, Artech House; authors include bornemann of Univ of Victoria.Certain canonical problems are explained in it.A search on IEEE, on papers by Prof Arndt,Thomas sieverding et al should also help you.
All the best
