update cache orcad

Hi folks,
This is from ramesh.I am using orcad software for schematic entry. i faced this following problem.
The used capacitor does have wrong properties(Eg: Manu Part num).So i created my own new library. And i replaced the that component's cache in schematic with preserved properties(if i do replace properties, the reference number is also changing. it creates problem in PCB).Then i updated that cahe again. But The wrong properties is still there.I can not do manual relcement(hundreds of capacitor).Help me to solve this problem. My mail ID is n.rameshbe@gmailcom

orcad update cache

I think for pcb design u need to take care of only two things:
1. The Footprint of the component
2. The part reference number

So just enter the footprint of the part in the properties window

If u have similar parts copy paste. (They will have same part reference numbers)

Finally annotate ur design. (Use unconditional reference update)

This should solve ur problem

orcad replace cache

hi,
Thanks for reply.:D
Actual problem is not with PCB but with Orcad(schematic).
Earlier i used old library(schematic) for design. Now i revised(i.e :corrected in schematic library) the properties due to errors in manufacturer partnumber.
So i have to update the schematic with out changing reference component reference. So while replaceing cache in schematic, i preserved its properties(one option is there in orcad to preserve the property. So that reference number of comonent will not be affected)Then the schematic cache is updated (for updating new manufacturer partnumber). But the thing is those properties r not geting updated properly. There is change in PCB footprint also.that change is also not getting updated. In my design, that component is used nearly 800 times. So i can't replace it by manually. The PCB is also over.PCB is almost completed. So i can't use "replace property" option that is avilable with replace CACHE option. If i use that option , i have to place that component (800 components) again.(due to change in reference number).
Reply me...Once again thanks for ur reply....

Regards.
Ramesh:cry:
