Hi,
Can anyone show me where in the datasheet for the following LCD sceen it indicates the controller IC that they used. The screen is a 16x4 character LCD from Mark Products. On their website it only states that the screen is HD44780 comatable, however the timing seems to off since I cant get the screen to initialize.

Thanks in advance

I cannot read your .pdf

The a HD44780 has slower response than the HD44780A.
Which timings are you using?

Are you trying to initialise for 4bit or 8bit transfer?

What rise time have you on your power lines?

Re: LCD controller IC

Hi,
The rise times on the power lines is (at least) one order of magnitude larger than the required timings. I am trying to initialize the display in 4 bit mode using C language on a PIC184550. However, I think that although the controller is similar / compatable slight timing differences is causing trouble. However I cannot seem to find the controller IC used by the screen in the datasheet.

*I have uploaded another copy of the same file, it seems to be working
