Has anyone built a reciever with LA1805 of Sanyo? It's an old chip, BUT with VERY good reception (I have bought a reciever with excelent reception, it's using this chip). I know the datashett has a schematic and PCB but it has mistakes and I want something simpler, like the one found in the radio I bought.
Does anyone have any idea?

Re: Reciever with LA1805

Try the new philips TEA5710 and TEA5711, They both are very little 'cute' IC's.

They both feature a 'tuned' circuit for the antenna system.
The total THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) is only 0.8%.

Both of them differ from the fact that the TEA5710 is a 24-pin DIP whereas the TEA5711 is 32-pin DIP and it features an internal stereo decoder which allows for superb quality FM Reception.

For their circuits, please refer to their datasheets.

I am designing a circuit based on TEA5710 and will inform you soon about it.

Re: Reciever with LA1805

Ok, I will try later the TEA chip. I want to built a reciever with LA1805 because the I was astonished by the reception.

Re: Reciever with LA1805

Wel, I finally built (not now, quite a long ago) the tuner found in the datasheet of LA1805, But the circuit in the datasheet has mistakes.Even the LA1805 is NOT correctly connected in the pcb. In fact, It's inverted in the datasheet, while nowhere mwntioned, or something else, I don't know. Anyway, my receiver does not work.
Kakkar, did you built the receiver with TEA5711(or TEA5710)?
Has anybody else built a good receiver with it or with any other chip.
Any suggestion would be welcome.
As long as it's something better than a TDA7000 receiver.

Hi ...
I only find this LA1800 not 1805 like you say and here is shema:
