mealy and moore?

can any one tell me wht are the advantages and disadvantages of mealy and moore
machines...

Re: mealy and moore?

Typically Moore is preferred over mealy one primary reason being that mealy output is dependent on both present state and the inputs, where any glitch in input value automatically reflects an glitch on the fsm output which in undesired.

Where as in case of moore the outputs are only depenedent on the state of FSM, which are typically outputs of the FF, there fore no glitches.

One advantage of Moore over Mealy is typically the area required by the former is less compareted to the later ..

Have n nice day!!

Re: mealy and moore?

well it might be dependent of the designs as well

Re: mealy and moore?

The main difference of mealy and moore machines is determining the present state and next state

according to the requirement you choose either machines
