recording a finger print using matlab

Hello every one
Is it possible to record finger print image in matlab? How to do so?
 

What you mean by recording? Record it as video?
 

what i mean by recording is that i would get the impression of my finger print so that i could do further processing on it
 

What I've done is ink stamp fingerprint on a paper then scan it using a scanner. The image can be input into MATLAB using imread.
