hi,

Calculation for core size,

Core Size of standard cell = standard cell area/core utilization

I have already fix the value for core utilization is 85%. How can i get the value for standard cell area so that i can do the calculation to get Core size . Thanx .

Siva

In my mind, the summary have the information. You can check it.

hi,

Do u mean the summary we have to get it from dc?

siva

Check the area report output by DC. It will contain the standard cell area/size, plus the total cells in the design.

Hi,

You can add the all sub-module size in you core to get a crude stand-cell area, and using the area add a routing area estimating by BE engineer to calculate the total core area.

Thanks.

Categorize your size into Random Logic Area + MEM Area.
You can get the area report from synthesis tool, usually it's based on um^2. (Based on the library you are targeting).
The chip area will be (RLA/cell utilization + MEM Area) * (1+DFT overhead)
