image processing using fpga

i want to do image processing project on FPGA
plz tell me where to start and which fpga kit i can use
is there any book related to image or video processing

u have to know an HDL (hardware description language) first
verilog or VHDL

u can use the xilinx site to search for kits and some application notes

www.xilinx.com

also make some searching here and u will find projects already done on these topics
 

yes i know about verilog hdl
and i m working on modelsim + i m using xilinx ise

lets say i want to do image detection in fpga
may i have to write own video routine or use others if yes then plz tell me from where i shall get that
