Can anyone help me to build a discrete components Mixer to generate IF signal of about 10.7MHz from a 90MHz signal?

I think that i can build one with built in oscillator, can't I? How? please suggest some circuits..

Also, what are the parameters used to describe the performance or c/cs of a mixer?

Thanks in advance,
Ahmad,

Re: I want to build a Mixer.. Hope the oscillator is built i

most important performance parameters are

• Conversion Gain,
• Noise,
• 1dB Compression Point (P1dB),
• Input 3rd Order Intermodulation Point (IIP3)
• Output 3rd Order Intermodulation Point (OIP3)

look at atached file, talks about RF metrics hope helps you.

I like to use the SA602 - it's a double-balanced mixer with all the fixin's for a local crystal oscillator up to 200MHz.

hye, do u have a schematic diagram for the circuit? I'm really appreciate that.tq

Or, if you need a really simple system use a local oscillator in conjunction with a single mixer diode. Low performance but it may be acceptable in your application.

You could create simple lumped element baluns for the RF/LO. Use a SOT-143 crossover diode quad. Then tap off the the IF with a simple low-pass L/C network.
