Hi,
I'm new to cadence. But I have been tinkering with it for some time now and I am comfortable working with the Analog Design Environment using specterS.

My question is: Can I specify an external input stimulus file (say, samples of a random noise process generated in Matlab) to run the transient response simulation? Or am I limited to the default choices in the STIMULUS menu under SETUP in the Simulation dialog box?

Your response and help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sunil

You can use an include file in the analog environment to specify an external stimulus. In the set up tab in the artist window, you can specify the input file.

Re: How do I specify an external input stimulus file in Cade

What syntax do I use? Can I specify individual sample points (say 20,000 samples for one second of speech data sampled at 20K Hz)?

Thanks,
Sunil

The syntax depends on the simulator you choose. In your case, you can use spectre syntax. To specify individula sample points, you may use pwl sources.
