You should look up UWB papers. They will give you mechanical dimensions and then you can simulate and compare results. You can also look up papers in the upload section.
try not to use FEM codes such as HFSS except for small antennas otherwise the simulation time would be extremely long.
The best software for this purpose are IE3D which has a trial version but does not support finite substrate (at least untill version 10) , CST Microwave studio and XFDTD.
Try to see the impulse response in time domain to determine if there is dispersion or not. or if you are sing a frequency domain solver use both the magnitude and phase plots.
