how to draw l-shape.

Hello,
I need to design a L-probe fed p.a.t.c.h antenna. I tried to follow the help but it was not so helpful. Could anyone tell me how to draw the L-shaped probe in IE3D. Should I use the command 'entity---probe feed to patch' or make a hole in the ground plane?

Hi, ychrenmail:

You can use the ADV EDIT->BUILD WIRE PATH command for it. The command basically allows you to draw a series of vertices in the 3D space and build a wire. You have an option to build a port at any of entered vertex. For example, you want to build a structure like this:

----A------top metal------------
\
\
B side view
/
/
----C--------bottom metal---------

You can enter the vertices A, B and C. Then, select ADV EDIT->BUILD WIRE PATH. You can choose to define ports at any or even all of the point A, B and C in the dialog. For the A and C, if you don't define port on them, you have the choice to make sure the conneciton between the wire and the top metal and bottom metal.

Best regards,
