really need help how to design square root!!! help me

please i realy need help on designing the square root for 17-bit using VHDL... can somebody give me the sample of the code or any website that related to the square root of binary number using VHDL. :cry:
 

hi,
here is a link which will help you realize a behavioral implementation for finding "square root" of an integer.

if your are a beginner please do not download the source code from the net. Try to solve it by having the a hardware model for that problem. Because you can learn a lot when you try to solve the problem.

this power point presentation will give you the hardware implementation idea for your problem.
 

You can use IP core of xilinx, cordic, I think it is enough for use.
