mmse receiver snr

Hello sir,

Could you please help us for getting SNR and BER formulae in case of single user for MMSE receiver.
We are doing our final year project(engineering) so please reply us as soon as possible.

Regards,
Maya.

Hi Maya,

SNR values are something that you have to determine to get for example BER for a MMSE receiver.

If you want to get the curve SNR vs BER for a MMSE receiver then you must do a simulation according to your chosen modulation (BPSK, QPSK, etc) and system (GSM, CDMA, OFDM, etc).

If you just want to get the curve without having to do the simulation yourselft, then please refer to signal processing or communication textbooks, or just search in the Internet.

Re: Help me for getting SNR and BER formulae for MMSE receiv

As my know, the MMSE receiver minimizes the mean square value of the error between the transmitted signal and the output of the equalizer. Since the signal structure is different in different system, you must list in detail about your project. In general, the formulae is: divided the conjugate complex channel coeficient by the sum of the variance of the noise and the square of the coeficient complex magnitude.

by the way, I'm still busied myself realizing the MMSE receiver.

Re: Help me for getting SNR and BER formulae for MMSE receiv

to my knowledge, BER performance of MMSE is not characteristized yet.

In general, the average BER calculation involves intergration over SNR, but SNR for MMSE is not readily available.
