cadence---help me

I would like to know what are the tools available in cadence???
What is the purpose of each tool???
Where to start????
Actually in our lab...there is no guide to guide us...........till now only we had a seminar for just 2hours on icfb flow.
Right now iam able to draw schematic and simulate it in virtuoso.
I am fallowing tutorials from Royal military college.
Please guide me how to learn these tools by my self???
Where can I get good tutorials???
Only 3 months left for me to learn these tools.......the time to finish my course.
Is this time is sufficient for me learn all the tools???If not.......what I can learn???

cadence---help me

u must read files from http:crete.cadence.com
or groups.google.com/crete (crete newsgroup) and cdnusers.org
u can see all tool and uses of every tools it described in
cdnusers.org demos video lectures.
otherwise follow all tools lab materials.

cadence having more than 100tools
so explaining all tools take more than 100 pages.
u must know what r the basic tools needed for digital/ analog design.
simply without studying u cant understand anything.
user cdsdoc files (type cdsdoc in terminal)

read all files in cdsdoc

cadence---help me

........read all files in cdsdoc ...............
i read few......
for schematic i read about 2000 pages of doc
and for analog spectra simulation i read the whole docs which r avail .....i feel that iam good in this tools now....but it takes a lot time.........i should know atleast how to work with not gate in this tool...then only i can understand whats there in cdsdocs.......

ARAVIND thanks for the reply

Re: cadence---help me

Hi Ankit,
Which university are you in? Can you talk to your supervisor/lab incharge who purchased/maintains all these tools for a detailed list of tutorials? Usually all these EDA tools will have some tutorial in their install directories. For Cadence, "cdsdoc" is a good start (type that command in UNIX shell).

Also, what course are you doing? Do you really need all tools? VIsit www.cadence.com and www.cdnusers.org for a brief idea of what each tool is intended for.

Good Luck
