Why the performance of synplify is better than XST?

synplify performance?

Hi,
We are using synplify pro to create and edif and then xilinx ise to creat a bitmap?
I was just wondering why exactly the performance of synplify is better than XST and in what way?
Is the runtime faster? Or is it more optimized? In what way exactly

Xilinx is hardware company, Simplify EDA software company. Everybody suppose to do what they best at. You can buy toyota with original stereo, but Panasonic is better same story here as well.

I use Synplify Pro with FPGA's for altera. There are two things. I find when using Synplify Pro I save at least 25% in area on the FPGA and the clock speed can be a lot higher.

True. Using synplify can help you achieve higher frequency. As for area, well....not too much savings, though.
