Hi Folks,

Can anyone give some information r refer some links for the range of voltages a 1.6 and 1mm thickness with fr4 material can withstand(2 & 4 layers)?

Regards

Ramesh

We have a 1.6mm 6 layer board with 2 ounce copper on all layers that works at 450 volts with no problems.
I tried to get info on this but it depends on the exact composition of the material used in the board. Typical break down voltages between layers for 1.6mm FR4 are in excess of 1Kv and can be as high as 6Kv.

Here is a simple calculator to get the seperation distance you need between high voltage traces.
