Problem installing Cadence SOC Encounter

Hi guys ..

I had so many problems installing Cadence SOC42 .. and finally after succeeding to work-out everything, I discovered that my partition is getting congested and I need to move the installed Cadence SOC42 to another partition .. How can I do that without any need to reinstall from the begining ? .. in other words, can I copy/past the directory to the other partition, with some modification made to some files ?

You should be able to just copy it to another directory. Only thing to watch for is if there are any symbolic links that you remake though..

ex..
tools -> tools.lnx86

what does that mean, sorry, I didn't get it ..
 

yes u can copy the whole directory to other partition except tools directory.
after u copied
just make link of tools.lnx to tools directory on the same folder
ln -ls tools tools.lnx

this means that I won't be able to remove the whole thing from my old partition to the new one .. :( ..

so, what about this :
export SOC_HOME=$CDS_INST_DIR/SOC42

should I change it ?
 

Hi! All

I installed soc42 and set env point to soc42. When I type encounter&, it popped up the window for soc42 and then it freeze. I tried to click on every items such as file...design... but it freeze and did not do anything

Any thought?

Did you install it, configure it, and test it with the Iscape without problem?

Try to see the log messages that are printed in the terminal, it can help to find any solution.

Hi, i am ahaving the same problem as in this posts. Plz help me with this. Internet was of not much use to solve this problem.

Hi,

I am not able to continue the installation of IScape to verify/Configure. It gives error before continuing.

I am using fedora 8 and on intel celeron 4, 2.4 G Hz with 2 GB DDR1 RAM. I have tried with other installation media like RHEL 4, 5, 7, Mandriva 2008, Ubuntu 9.10 Edition.

No luck in solving this problem.

I have degraded the TAR, Updated TAR and nothing could solve this problem.

The terminal snapshot, i have added in my previous post.

Hi Srinivasan,

I have seen that video, and tried installing according to it. But i get the same error as previos.

But when i try to install on Ubuntu 64 bit version, Then following is error.

You must have write permissions to /cad/is //I was installing this as a root
There must be atleast 80 MB of disk space available in // i have atleast 18 GB free space

Plz help me srinivasan

hi

please try it with ubuntu 9.04 32 bit only
not on 64 bit
this video works definitely
pls install ubuntu 9.04 32 bit version and get back with the correct errors u get

hai , i have a SOC encounter tools in 3 rar file , i have buy from crack99.com , an any one plz help how to installation , and need a steps also ......
 

HI,

First unrar, you will have almost 1.8GB or so. Once you have it. let me know. I will tell you remaining steps.

Also tell me if you have installscape with the pack.

Installing SOC is easy.

By the way, Which version do u have?

Yes, you can unrar it in windows.

Once you have done, Get it back to Linux envirnoment.

Go to the SOC directory and in terminal typr ./setup.sh or ./SETUP.sh (See which file you have)

and let me know what you get.

Dear lohi21,
I have soc encounter version 8.1 and 9.1 with hotfix and their cracks. i can icstall it using iscape, but i have so many problems with cracking issue.it realy exhausted me.would you please give me a step by step guide for this problem.
