Hi all,
I have somequestions in 'A'DS,

1. How can I display an FM wave in the time domain? i.e. which type of simulation shall I use to display it??

2. How can I search 'A'DS for a part? such as "limiter","Mixer",...etc. ?? assuming that I know part of the name and I want to display a list of similar parts w/ that name..

3. How can I write equations in 'A'DS?? What're advantages of equations??

4. Can I find a model for TDA 7000 working in 'A'DS?? If no, how can I simulate it?

Thanks alot in advance,
Ahmad,

Re: 'A'DS Questions

Hey! Why no one need to even add any reply to this topic?!! or even read it? Please if anyone had any comment, don't hesitate to add it, it may help me so much!
Thanks,
Ahmad,

1. You can use transient simulation but if that takes too long...envelope simulation can also be used

2. Usually the components/parts are categorised in ADS into blocks...e.g. System Mod/Demod, System PLL components etc...so i would say that you use ur intuition to guess which part will be in which block...i am unaware of any way of searching for components..from these blocks

3. Equations are very useful and can be both written on the schematic using different variable/pin names that you define. Also they can be written in the data display after you run your simulation(Post Processing). This is usually to do different operations (e.g. FFT, to observe magnitude and phase, etc) of the data which is produced after simulation....There are two help documents available in the ADS documentation each explaining writing equations on schematic and on data display...if you need them...plz let me know..

4.Unfortunately i dont have any idea wot TDA 7000 is...maybe you can elaborate it a bit more...

I hope my reply helps a bit..
Regards

First of all, Thanks alot and jazak allaah khayran for your reply to me :)..
Concerning equations books, please do send them to me,
and concerning TDA 7000 it's an FM Radio IC where you can find its datasheet as well as its application notes on Phillips website,

For other guys,
I need further more help, Haadi didn't reply every thing (don't get upset Haadi please :) you helped me too much)

Thanks alot in advance,
Ahmad,
