Hi,
I wish to make microstrip RFC inductor (not straight TL) in my circuit,
How can I calculate its inductance.
I can use @DS & HFSS.

rfc inductance

Hi, ommumm.

I think you can use ADS's momentum or HFSS to model and simulate the two-port inductor, and get the S parameters file. So you can calculate inductor value from S parameters using the right formulas.

Thanks dopradar,

what are the formulas to calculate inductance from S parameter
can we follow any standard method to design it.
Line calculators are only for straight microstrip lines, how can one calculate the inductance of any arbitrary structure or that particular RFC inductor (you can see these in many circuits)

In HFSS there is a built-in tool to calculate the inductor or capacitor values. but sorry for that i forget the name of this tool, so you can find it in HFSS.
