transcient analysis of ring oscillator

Hello,
I'm implementing a ring oscillator at 10MHz with cmos inverters and transmission gates in between which are controlled by control voltage. But when i simulate in spectre, i need to set initial point otherwise all inputs and outputs of inverters stay in mid-rail. how can i build up a start-up circuit for this vco? or do i need one? would it jump to some rail in real life with noise and other effects?

transient analysis of ring oscillator

Generally you should not require any external (seed) voltage to get it started, since the internal circuit computation engine has inherently digital (therefore not exact). Check the time length of your transient analysis (perhaps it is too short)... or alternatively, look at the model of the transistors used (not right range for 10 MHz)....

Good luck
