what is the quiescent current in PA? somebody told me that is the dc collector current value, right?

thanks.

PA Quiescent current is the current that flows in a PA when no input power is present.
The quiescent current of a PA depend by application, depend by max output power or depend by modulation.
Different types of modulations require different quiescent currents, because the PA is working in different classes.

Thanks.
but how can i get the quiescent current in a simulator, e.g. in @DS. and, if no input signal, that is like dc simulation. however, DC simulation is indepedent with max output power or modulation. expect an explanation.

A simple DC simulation with no input RF power is ok to find the quiescent current of your PA. In a multistage Power Amplifier is important to measure the quiescent current for each stage. Different stages could run in different classes, having different ICQ's.

Vfone is right. You can only do dc simulation to obtain quiencent current. This can be done in spectre or ads.
