how to differentiate capacitors

Anyone can show me how to differentiate the Capacitor using Multi Tester (Analog & Digital) ?

hi
i dont think that this is possible ................. since you need an AC bridge to find the value of the inductor or capacitor .

so i think that you should get an lc multimeter

kengloong,
One way is to charge the capacitor to a known voltage. Then connect a known resistance (R) across the capacitor. The load resistance must be much less than the input resistance of the multimeter. Measure the time (t) required for the capacitor to discharge to 36.8% of its original value. The capacitance is equal to
t/R. This method is not practical for very small values of capacitance. Also, you must choose the value of R so that the response time of the multimeter is small compared to t.

If your multimeter has "FREQUENCY" option you can employ 555 timer and build astabile generator (basic configuration).
In this case capacitance can be calculated from the following equasion:
C=1.44/(Ra+2Rb)*f

i don't think it is possible because we don't have any formulas for capacitor that is usable with a multimeter
