Hai

I am doing a UPS using pic 16F72 (Squire wave only)

I have a problem. When UPs changes ubruptly from AC to inverter I cannot avoid a blink in output. I use the pic's

adc to monitor AC input and when the ADC value goes below a limit it switches to Inverter mode in my case.

This method is working ok when power fails from a very low voltage AC present stage.

That means if we reduce the input AC using a auto transformer ,UPS smoothly changes to Inverter mode without any jerk. But

when AC suddenly goes from a 230 volt level the ADC input takes some time to settle down and i belive as a result some jerk

in the output which is visible .

Please do let me know what is the professional method in a microcontroller based UPS to smoothly execute this changeover from

a AC on state to Inverter state. How it is implimented?

Any MCU Based UPS links?

Thanks

I suggest the problem could be due to non synchronization of frequency between both the AC and the inverter output. Inverter output is generally at 50Hz where the AC can vary from 48- 52 Hz . Pleas echeck the synchronization wave forms.

You could rectify this in software if this causes this problem.

You can contact Aleem who is an embeded programmer at xxxxxxxxxxx33
There are quite a lot Expert Embedded engineers on this forum, who can guide better. Bussiness intrests may be kept out in a special section for that. As a newbie, you need to read rules/ announcements before posting to avoid warnings. For you info, the thread had its last reply in 2005.
