why this method of signaling wont work for mobile communication

Re: ofdm

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is considered as an effective technique in digital transmission under severe multipath fading. Its appeal has existed for some time, but it is only recently that its implementation has become technically feasible and costly compititive. Both transmitter and receiver can be implemented by DSP using efficient IFFT/FFT techniques. OFDM allows high data rate transmission and the possibility of maximizing its efficiency by adapting its variables to the channel behaviour. One more advantage can be added to the OFDM scheme by including a direct sequence spread spectrum component into the system. These features are suitable to future mobile communications systems.
