Dear Sir :

I am trying to transfer a file from HFSS to the layout of ADS. I export the file from HFSS as dxf., but when I import it under layout in ADS, it always said error. Could u tell me how can I transfer such a file from HFSS to ADS momentum.

Thank u very much!

Regards,

Wei

OK, just a hint.

DXF is not a single file format, there are different versions, usualy related to the
corresponding AutoCAD version, like dxf for AutoCAD 2002. Do not know all the
details, but sure that is the case and it may be the reason for you problems.

Secondly, which error message did you get?

Finally, smoothless data file conversion is very rare, and in some cases it is easier
to draw the model again instead of trying to fix the conversion problems. At least this is my experience.

Hope this help
:D

ADS keeps asking for file Layout.lay .... when we export from HFSS Altium or whatever there is only file.dxf ... HOW TO SOLVE THIS?

Boss HFSS to ADS file transfer not possible!! But can be done using intense jugglery
This might help
to export gerber file from an HFSS file decribing a multi-layered structure (say 6 metal layers)
you need to define 6 offset coordinates, whose origin lie on eatch of the 6 layers. Then you export them one by one to gerber format.

hi Benza246,
Layout file would be found on (C:\Users\vinoth\antenna_prj\networks (assuming project is antenna_prj and stored at C:\Users\vinoth\). Each layout design would have .lay file, which has information about Layer properties such as color, fill, line type etc.
When ADS asks for Layout.lay, select the file in "networks" folder... you should be able to import dxf file.
Hope this helps...
